As you can see from the above pictures my 2010 foals are here! "Bunny" by HIGHLIGHTCAT (by HIGH BROW CAT) and out of PLAYBOYS LUCKY DOLLY, foaled on April 4, 2010 (Easter evening) and thus the name "Bunny." Next came "Cooper" by ATHENA PUDDY CAT and out of STYLISH BOONERANG on April 11, 2010. He got his name for the "C" on his forehead. ATHENA PUDDY CAT (by HIGH BROW CAT), is one of the most highly talked about upcoming young studs in the cutting industry and the sire of ITAWTATHENAPUDDYCAT, the 2009 NCHA Non-Pro Horse of the Year, owned by Megan Miller. And rounding out our herd for this year is "Duster" sired by HIGHLIGHTCAT and out of MILLENNIUM FLO, foaled on April 15, 2010. He looks like he has been "dusted" with powder sugar thanks to the rabicano gene. So we have had a litter of kittens with all foals sired by sons of the great HIGH BROW CAT, the most dominant sire in cutting today! All are healthy and thriving and all are available for sale.

As for what the future holds, I am expecting 2 foals in 2011, having decided by choice to give MILLENNIUM FLO a year off. PLAYBOYS LUCKY DOLLY is in foal to PEPTOS STYLISH OAK and is due around mid-April. PEPTOS STYLISH OAK is one of the most successful breeding sons of PEPTOBOONSMAL producing earners of $1,800,000+ including PEPTOS STYLISH SUE, the NCHA Open Derby Champion in 2008. STYLISH BOONERANG, a daughter herself of PEPTOS STYLISH OAK, is due towards the end of April and she is in foal to CATS MERADA. So I'm hoping for two roans for 2011.

I have written in the past about my fascination with the rare champagnes and my desire to make them a part of my breeding program. JK GOLD AS IT GETS (also known as Gigi) has been tested by the genetics lab at UC Davis and she is homozygous for the champagne gene (document available for view on her individual foal page) so all of her babies are expected to be champagnes! Gigi is available for embryo transfers. I am asking $1,000 not including stud fees and vet expenses. So if you would be interested in having your very own champagne by a stallion of your choosing (but upon my approval), please contact me so we can talk. In addition to her impressive gold color, Gigi's pedigree contains such performance stars as TOPSAIL CODY, COUGARAND and PEPPY SAN BADGER.

ANNOUNCEMENT: JK GOLD AS IT GETS will be bred to GUNNERS SPECIAL NITE in 2012 for a 2013 foal! I'm really thrilled! GUNNERS SPECIAL NITE is the first Western horse ever to be named the United States Equestrian Federation Horse of the Year. He was also the NRHA Futurity Open Reserve Champion. He has accumulated earnings of more than $230,000 in his illustrious career. He throws a lot of white and we know it is going to be a gold champagne so this should be very exciting come 2013. |  |

I am offering for sale at $7,500 my other champagne mare, JK CHAMPAGNE BUBBLES by COUGARAND. Bubbles is "Little Peppy" top and bottom and a granddaughter of BADGER STARLIGHT, full brother to GRAYS STARLIGHT. She should make an outstanding broodmare who hopefully will be generous when passing out the champagne color gene to her foals. She is for sale because as far as the champagne breeding I have decided to concentrate my efforts on Gigi as she will give me 100% champagne foals. Bubbles is currently in training with Gail Tyson, 3-time NFR qualifier in barrel racing. Bubbles is not being trained for barrels but Gail puts a solid foundation on horses so look for pictures of Bubbles under saddle coming soon along with a new video.
As for some updates on previous horses that I have bred, DOSAMINA FRECKLES by DOS PALOMINO and out my mare PLAYBOYS LUCKY DOLLY placed 3rd at the 2009 Abilene Spectacular Amateur Derby and already has her COA. She is now owned by Claire Lindus. PEPTOS LUCKY PLAYBOY, my PEPTOZONE colt out of PLAYBOYS LUCKY DOLLY, was the 2nd highest selling yearling at the 2007 National Stock Horse Association's Invitational Sale and is being shown by Chip Cardon for his new owners, Bobette and Wayne Cagel, and is earning money in West Coast cuttings. So I am quite proud of my mare PLAYBOYS LUCKY DOLLY. She has produced 2 horses of performance age and both are money earners!
NEWS BULLETIN! - PEPTOS LUCKY PLAYBOY (Peptozone x Playboys Lucky Dolly) wins the 10K at the Utah Cutting Horse Association Futurity and Aged Event in Ogden, Utah in November 2010. He also went on and placed 2nd in the Open Derby. Congratulations to his owners Bobette and Wayne Cagle and their trainer, Chip Cardon. And to finish out the year, "Cowboy," as he is called, went on to win the Open Derby Championship at the Kern County Cutting Horse Association in 2010. WAY TO GO! Look for Cowboy, Chip and the Cagles in 2011 in West Coast cuttings.

CATAWAMPUS STARLIGHT (COUGARAND x CLOUDY GO LIGHTLY) has settled in with Keri'Ann Ackerman who also bought DUALIN GREAT (DUALIN GUN x ROSALYNN BLU) from me. Keri'Ann on DUALIN GREAT (Sooner) was the winner of the Junior Horse Barrel Race and Vaquero Memorial Award at the 2008 Sharon Camarillo Western Classic held in Reno in July 2008. I will try to post more updated pictures of these JK stars in the making in the coming months.
So take your hat off, come on in, have a cup of coffee and look at my horses. I've assembled a multitude of pictures for you to view and hopefully you might like to come by and see some horses. There will be a lot more to look at and read about over the coming months, including more details about this ranch property which will be for sale as I plan to relocate JK Performance Horses sometime in the not so distant future.
