Welcome to JK Performance Horses, also known as JK Cutting Horses. These horses are so versatile that whatever endeavor you pursue, be it cutting, reining, reined cowhorse, roping, ranching, you can find something here.
As you can see from the above pictures my 2009 foals are here! 2009 was quite an exciting year as I had all three of my half-sisters out of my old DRY DOC mare foal in 2009. A chestnut colt by BIG CHEX TO CASH was foaled on January 27, 2009. On March 16, 2009 my MATT DILLON DUN IT colt, also a chestnut with white on all four legs, came into the world. Then on April 23, 2009 a palomino roan filly by BIG CHEX TO CASH was foaled. All are healthy, all are stunning and all have tons of chrome. There are lots of pictures to look at and we're also working on videos. All 3 foals will be enrolled in the NRHA Futurity/Derby program along with the NRBC. Inquiries are welcomed on all 3 foals as they are for sale.

I feel that crossing BIG CHEX TO CASH with some of my cutting-bred mares has given me some outstanding prospects for reined cowhorse or strictly reining and even cutting. BIG CHEX TO CASH has a lot of cow in his pedigree including the likes of MR GUNSMOKE, NU CASH, COLONEL FRECKLES and DOC O'LENA. The same holds true for my MATT DILLON DUN IT colt who in addition to the prestigious reining events is also eligible for the NRCHA Stakes program.

As for what the future holds, all 3 of my broodmares are in foal for 2010. March-April 2010 is going to be busy around here. MILLENNIUM FLO is due first and is in foal to HIGHLIGHT CAT (by HIGH BROW CAT), followed by PLAYBOYS LUCKY DOLLY who is also in foal to HIGHLIGHT CAT. The last due to foal is STYLISH BOONERANG who is in foal to ATHENA PUDDY CAT (by HIGH BROW CAT), one of the most highly talked about upcoming young studs in the cutting industry and the sire of ITAWTATHENAPUDDYCAT, the 2009 NCHA Non-Pro Horse of the Year, owned by Megan Miller. So as you can see, in 2010 I'm having a litter of kittens with all 3 mares in foal to sons of the great HIGH BROW CAT, the most dominant sire in cutting today! These foals by HIGHLIGHT CAT and ATHENA PUDDY CAT will be eligible for most of the major incentive programs, and the foal out of MILLENNIUM FLO will specifically be eligible for the NRHA Sire and Dam Program.

Come look at our sneak peek video of our 2010 foals: "Bunny" by HIGHLIGHT CAT and out of PLAYBOYS LUCKY DOLLY, foaled on April 4, 2010 (Easter evening) and thus the name "Bunny." Next came "Cooper" by ATHENA PUDDY CAT and out of STYLISH BOONERANG on April 11, 2010. He got his name for the "C" on his forehead. And rounding out our herd for this year is "Duster" sired by HIGHLIGHT CAT and out of MILLENNIUM FLO foaled on April 15, 2010. He looks like he has been "dusted" with powder sugar thanks to the rubicano gene. All are healthy and thriving and all are available for sale.

I have written in the past about my fascination with the rare champagnes and my desire to make them a part of my breeding program. JK GOLD AS IT GETS (also known as Gigi) has been tested by the genetics lab at UC Davis and she is homozygous for the champagne gene (document available for view on her individual foal page) so all of her babies are expected to be champagnes! In 2010 Gigi will be available for embryo transfers. I am asking $2,000 not including stud fees and vet expenses. So if you would be interested in having your very own champagne by a stallion of your choosing (but upon my approval), please contact me so we can talk. In addition to her impressive gold color, Gigi's pedigree contains such performance stars as TOPSAIL CODY, COUGARAND and PEPPY SAN BADGER.

I am offering for sale at $4,500 my other champagne mare, JK CHAMPAGNE BUBBLES by COUGARAND. Bubbles is "Little Peppy" top and bottom and a granddaughter of BADGER STARLIGHT, full brother to GRAYS STARLIGHT. She should make an outstanding broodmare who hopefully will be generous when passing out the champagne color gene to her foals. She is for sale because as far as the champagne breeding I have decided to concentrate my efforts on Gigi as she will give me 100% champagne foals. Because my intention had been to keep Bubbles solely as a broodmare I did not break her to ride, however having owned her dam, grand-dam and even her great grand dam, I believe she would easily adapt to a training program as she is just a coming 5-year-old. JK CHAMPAGNE BUBBLES is also available for embryo transfer at $1,000, (not including stud fees and vet expenses) or on a pure on site lease basis with a 50% chance of getting a champagne foal.
As for some updates on previous horses that I have bred, DOSAMINA FRECKLES by DOS PALOMINO and out my mare PLAYBOYS LUCKY DOLLY placed 3rd at the 2009 Abilene Spectacular Amateur Derby and already has her COA. I'm so excited for her owner, Claire Lindus. She is in training with Russell Harrison and Jonathan Rogers in Wichita Falls, Texas and will be shown in the amateur division by Claire. Keep up the good work, Claire! Claire will also be working with SHIMMER N FLO by NITRO DUAL DOC and out of my mare MILLENNIUM FLO and will be starting her on her way to the cutting pen.
I'm also quite excited that PEPTOS LUCKY PLAYBOY, my PEPTOZONE colt out of PLAYBOYS LUCKY DOLLY, is now in the able hands of California trainer, Chip Cardon. He placed 2nd in the Open Derby at the Central Coast Cutters NCHA approved show in March 2010, and is consistently scoring 72s and 73s. PEPTOS LUCKY PLAYBOY, or "Cowboy," is now owned by Bobette and Wayne Cagle and was the 2nd highest selling yearling at the 2007 National Stock Horse Association's Invitational Sale.
CATAWAMPUS STARLIGHT (COUGARAND x CLOUDY GO LIGHTLY) has settled in with Keri'Ann Ackerman in Nevada who also bought DUALIN GREAT (DUALIN GUN x ROSALYNN BLU) from me. Keri'Ann on DUALIN GREAT (Sooner) was the winner of the Junior Horse Barrel Race and Vaquero Memorial Award at the 2008 Sharon Camarillo Western Classic held in Reno in July 2008. Way to go, Keri'Ann! I will try to post more updated pictures of these JK stars in the making in the coming months.
